My Experience with Therapy Dog Training: Preparing for Service Work
Let me share a personal story about therapy dog training, therapy dog preparation, service dog work that changed everything for me and my dog. Sometimes the best lessons come from real experiences and the challenges we overcome together.
The Beginning
When I first started working with therapy dog training, therapy dog preparation, service dog work, I had no idea what I was getting into. Like many dog owners, I thought training would be straightforward. Boy, was I wrong! My dog, Buddy, had other plans.

Buddy was stubborn, to say the least. Every technique I tried seemed to bounce right off him. I was getting frustrated, and I could tell he was too. That's when I realized I needed to change my approach completely.

One day, I decided to step back and really observe Buddy. What motivated him? What made him happy? When I started working with his natural instincts instead of against them, everything clicked into place.
The Lesson
What I learned was that successful training isn't about forcing your dog to conform to your expectations. It's about understanding your dog's unique personality and working together as a team.
Where We Are Now
Today, Buddy and I have an incredible bond. The training challenges we faced together made us stronger as a team. He's not just a well-trained dog; he's my best friend and partner in everything we do.
